TITLE: MASTER ELECTRICIAN
DIVISION/DEPARTMENT: REAL ESTATE/OPERATIONS
SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under the supervision of the Assistant Director of Real Estate or assigned supervisor; duties include but are not limited to all aspects of electrical troubleshooting, maintenance, repair, installation, testing and operation of facilities and other electrical equipment that may be found in an industrial and commercial environment or otherwise located on properties serviced by the BPDA.
GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The general duties and responsibilities of the position are included in but not limited to the information listed below.
Requires a High School education or equivalent, ability to take direction, and work independently with minimum of supervision as well as work effectively with the public. Must hold a valid State Master Electricians License (issued by the State Examiners of Electricians and maintain license in good standing for the duration of employment.); a valid State Class 3 Motor Vehicle Operator’s License. Requires knowledge of electrical systems, materials, layouts, and the ability to read blueprints, and provide time/cost estimates. Good communication and task supervision skills required. Must have specific experience in and understanding of all aspects of electrical troubleshooting, maintenance, repair, installation, testing and operation of facilities and other electrical equipment that may be found in an industrial and commercial environment; and demonstrated aptitude in electrical power theory. Must have experience ordering and installing all types of electrical wiring and knowledge of the process to obtain electrical permits through City Hall and a thorough knowledge of the National Electrical Code as well as the ability to make decisions in the completion of all tasks. May be required to work outside of normal working hours to satisfy special requirements and/or response to emergencies. Will be required to carry and respond to a pager, radio or other means of communication as determined by supervisor and/or manager.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: Union environment
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Required to wear a clean, neat uniform and maintain a professional image at all times. Required to wear safety equipment and clothing when appropriate and/or required.
37 ½ hours per week Monday through Friday; 7:00AM-3:00 PM; or as assigned. May be required to work occasional overtime and/or to rotate shifts.
