TITLE:           SENIOR RESEARCH ANALYST

 

STATUS:       EXEMPT

 

DEPARTMENT/DIVISION:  YOUTH & HUMAN SERVICES/ OWD                                               

 

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

Under the direction of the Director of OWD, work with institutions and agencies to collect data for research and evaluation; provide support and management to special projects focusing on youth employment and youth development; provide recommendations on policies and programs for special projects; and provide guidance and support for grants development, submission and management.

 

GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The general duties and responsibilities of the position are included in but not limited to the information listed below.
 
Research case studies, analyze data, and write briefs for the Director and other related departments. Present research findings, policy implications, and guidance for the agency.
 
Analyze data collection and metrics for youth programming and provide recommendations.
 
Assist with budget and data analysis for reporting, projections, and policy implementation.
 
Collaborate with OWD departments to support grant-making; this may include research, draft preparation, and submission of proposals, as needed.
 
Provide support and management for special projects, particularly relating to youth employment, youth development and asset/wealth building initiatives. Work with volunteers and other staff as needed to successfully execute special projects. This may include initiatives such as the Children’s Savings Accounts and Tuition-Free Community College.
 
Supervise staff, consultants, and volunteers as needed.
 
May represent EDIC/OWD at meetings and conferences.
 
Perform other related duties as required.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Work requires the completion of a bachelor’s degree, but preferably a graduate degree in public policy, public administration, business management, research design and/or evaluation. 
  • 2-3 years of prior work experience 
  • Ability to understand and run data analytics.  
  • Strong writing, critical thinking, and analytical skills. 
  • Strong communication and presentation skills. 
  • Ability to establish priorities and work independently and collaboratively
  • Knowledge of Boston neighborhoods, workforce development field, and/or non-profit is strongly preferred. 
  • Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, and other administrative softwares.  

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT: Normal office environment.

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Little or no exertion; frequent local travel.
