TITTLE: HOUSING COMPLIANCE INTERN
SUMMARY: INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITY – SPRING 2018 (UNPAID)
Under the oversight of the Housing Staff review rental income certification and participate with rental income mail and paperwork. Work with Housing Specialists to engage in random samples of management companies to ensure all documentation is in order. Review all Housing Agreements for proper document recording. Work with Housing Specialists and Legal Department to complete the process of recording the properties. Review lease agreements to make sure the language is consistent with affordable housing agreements and request leases from management companies and leasing offices. Enter data into our Affordable Housing Database updating new tenants/owners. Also add development information into the database.
The Housing Unit under the BPDA Compliance Unit manage the portfolio of affordable (aka workforce development, middle income, inclusionary development policy) housing units under BPDA purview. Provide technical assistance to external stakeholders on requirements for maintaining compliance of IDP/Affordable housing units at initial sale, initial lease or resale as appropriate.
QUALIFICATIONS: Undergraduate course work in liberal arts. Detail orientation. Minimum 25 hours per week.
DATES OF INTERNSHIP: January 8, 2018- June 30, 2018
Spring Semester full or part-time schedule available (minimum of 25 hours per week). Flexible start and end dates; schedules open to discussion based on student and employer needs.
Participants in this Internship Program should be Undergraduate students, Graduate students.
