SUMMARY: INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITY – SUMMER 2018
Under the supervision of the Director of Research, assist in collecting and analyzing economic, social, and demographic data and preparing written reports regarding demographic groups in Boston’s neighborhoods.
Work requires Bachelor’s degree level coursework or Master’s degree level coursework. Coursework in statistics and/or research methods is critical. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Collaborative Suites, spreadsheets, databases, and library search engines is required. The ability to interact well with the public and other staff is essential. Experience with statistical software packages, SPSS or STATA, and advanced excel skills including pivot tables and macros are desirable. Experience using data from the US Census Bureau and Bureau of Labor Statistics is preferable.
Summer Semester full- or part-time Internship (minimum of 20 hours per week). Flexible start and end dates; schedules open to discussion based on student and employer needs.
Participants in the Internship Program should be an Undergraduate student, Graduate student or recent Graduate.
