    Mission of Organization

    The mission of the Boston Tax Help Coalition is to broaden pathways from poverty to financial empowerment by maximizing the impact of the earned income and other tax credits through quality, free tax preparation, financial education and economic stability opportunities.


    Project Description

    The Market/Outreach Intern will assist in executing a comprehensive marketing plan for the 2017/18 tax campaign. This internship will perform a key role in assisting with contacting marketing/outreach outlets, organizing campaign efforts, preparing market collateral packages, and other duties as assigned. Duties include:


    General duties:

    • Assist with contact and follow-up with market/outreach outlets
    • Record and track key contact data
    • Organize and execute market plan logistics and information
    • Prepare and distribute Coalition marketing materials



    • Assist with drafting and editing marketing content, information, etc.
    • Write correspondence, proposals and other documents as needed


    Website Development & Social Media:

    • Assist with drafting and editing marketing content, and information on the Coalition website and blog posts
    • Assist with the organizing and writing of postings for various social media outlets;
    • Manage social media posting/release schedule;
    • Assist with the development and execution of creative strategies to generate social media traffic


    • Strong organizational skills
    • Previous related intern and/or work experience
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
    • High proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
    • Knowledge of social media platforms
    • Proficiency in Word Press is a plus

    Note: This is an unpaid Internship



    DATES OF INTERNSHIP PROGRAM: September to December 2018

    Fall semester full or part-time unpaid internship available (15-20 hours per week) with flexible hours and start date. Intern work schedule is open for discussion based on student and employer needs. 

    • Extended Internship hours from January-May 2019 upon discussion


    Participants in the Internship Program should be Undergraduate students, Graduate students or recent Graduates.
