SUMMARY: INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITY – Spring/Summer 2019 (UNPAID)
Under the direction of Senior Planners, support public outreach and its internal coordination. Assist with public process, document production, workshops, as well as planning, zoning and land use regulation initiatives. The intern will work directly with staff, embedding in the teams leading planning initiatives in Boston’s Downtown, East Boston, and Newmarket neighborhoods.
Provide assistance on the following projects:

Applicant must be currently enrolled in a master’s program in city planning, urban design, architecture or real estate. Proficiency with Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop is required. (If the intern is interested in pursuing research related to the department’s review of Zoning Board of Appeal cases, experience with statistical and spatial analysis is preferred.) While the internship is unpaid, interns typically arrange funding for work at the BPDA through their academic program or other outside sources, with the support of BPDA staff.
DATES OF INTERNSHIP PROGRAM: Spring 2019 to Summer 2019
Internship available with flexible hours and start date. Opportunity to extend internship into school year. Intern work schedule is open for discussion based on student and employer needs.
Participants in the Internship Program should be Graduate students.
