    TITLE:          OUTREACH COORDINATOR, ROXBURY CENTER FOR FINANCIAL EMPOWERMENT (RCFE)

      

    DIVISION/DEPARTMENT: ROXBURY CENTER FOR FINANCIAL EMPOWERMENT/OFE/OWD

     

    SUMMARY:

    Under the direction of the Office of Financial Empowerment (OFE) Deputy Director and the Manager of the Roxbury Center for Financial Empowerment, the Outreach Coordinator will be responsible for outreach, recruitment, and administrative efforts supporting the Roxbury Center for Financial Empowerment.  This includes acting as a receptionist for the RCFE and conducting orientation sessions;  building partnerships and maintaining relationships with community stakeholders and residents; drafting outreach and marketing materials; attending community and city-wide meetings, representing the RCFE and OFE as needed; and following up on the RCFE’s administrative tasks as required. 

     

    GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Organize and coordinate the RCFE’s administrative tasks, including responding promptly to calls on the general RCFE phone number and responding to emailed inquiries
    • Conduct orientation and recruitment sessions at RCFE and in the community
    • Handle basic receptionist duties, respond to general inquiries, and assist with employment services
    • Coordinate outreach efforts in the community; manage outreach committee consisting of OFE staff; provide weekly updates to management on outreach activities
    • Attend neighborhood and resident events and meetings to describe OFE/RCFE programs and recruit individuals to participate
    • Assist with the Boston Tax Help Coalition’s work as needed, including the tax site at the RCFE
    • Document and track RCFE data, including documenting individuals attending orientation and using RCFE services, using MOSES and other case management software
    • Market OFE service and programs to employers in greater Roxbury and document such efforts
    • Support the work of the Office of Financial Empowerment, including all programs such as the Boston Tax Help Coalition, Bridge to Hospitality, Homebuyer Readiness, Boston Builds Credit, etc.
    • Other assignments as needed or required

     

    QUALIFICATIONS: 

    Work requires a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with three or more years related experience in the community.  Bilingual skills, especially Spanish, helpful.  Must have a strong background in community organizing, planning and coordination.  Skills required also include excellent communication and presentation skills, basic computer skills, ability to analyze data, and ability to work well with others.

     

    WORK ENVIRONMENT:

    Normal office environment; local travel to attend meetings/activities.  Must be able to work occasional evenings and weekends.   This position is based in Roxbury.

     

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

    Little or no exertion.  Should be able to lift 25 pounds.
