    The Fundraising Intern will assist the Development Coordinator in identifying and raising donor resources for the Coalition. Roles and responsibilities include:



    • Assist with drafting or reviewing proposal narratives, letters of interest, award acknowledgements, and reports for funders
    • Assist with creating and improving donor communication resources such as the annual report, webpage, brochures, or additional materials, as needed


    • Develop an understanding of foundation prospect research
    • Research and recommend new foundation, government, and alternative funding sources
    • Research current trends and data to strengthen funding requests


    • Attend fundraising meetings with the Development Coordinator
    • Assist with fundraising events and individual donor solicitation, as needed
    • Assist with other development tasks, as needed


    Mission of Organization


    The mission of the Boston Tax Help Coalition is to broaden pathways from poverty to financial empowerment by maximizing the impact of the earned income and other tax credits through quality, free tax preparation, financial education and economic stability opportunities.


    Note: This is an unpaid Internship



    • Excellent oral and written communication skills
    • Interest in social justice issues and mission driven work
    • Strong organization skills, with the ability to prioritize and work under strict deadlines
    • Ability to take initiative and work independently as well as within a team environment
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel
    • Experience with graphic design a plus, though not required

     *A writing sample may be requested.


    DATES OF INTERNSHIP PROGRAM: May/June 2019 - August 2019

    Summer Semester full- or part-time Internship (24 -30 hours a week within a Monday through Friday, 9am-5pm schedule).  Flexible start and end dates; schedules open to discussion based on student and employer needs.
