    TITLE:    Real Estate Lease Administration Intern                                  

      

    DEPARTMENT/DIVISION: BUDGET&FINANCE/ADMINISTRATION&FINANCE

     

    SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES: Under the direction of the Lease/Contract Administration Manager, the Lease/Contract Administration Intern will assist in the day to day operations of the department including the monitoring and servicing of commercial real estate lease agreements between the Boston Planning and Development Agency (“BPDA”) and its multiple tenants for use of BPDA owned real estate. The Intern will assist with lease portfolio compliance reviews to ensure the accurate tracking and servicing of various lease terms and conditions.

     

    GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    The general duties and responsibilities of the position are included in but not limited to the information listed below.

    • Collect, abstract and upload into the Yardi commercial real estate database pertinent real estate lease contract data and documentation,
    • Assist staff with the management of all critical date activity in the real estate lease portfolio including term commencement/expiration dates, fixed/additional rent commencement/end dates, option notice/exercise dates and other contract milestone activity,
    • Monitor and collect from tenants evidence of appropriate insurance coverage as required by contract,
    • Monitor and collect from tenants financial reports as required by contract,
    • Provide regular support to the Lease/Contract Administration Manager and perform other duties as assigned by senior staff.

     

    QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

    The Intern shall be currently enrolled in, or have completed, a Bachelor’s degree program with a major or concentration in business administration, accounting, finance, pre-law or similar field. The ideal candidate is inclined to be highly organized and able to maintain high level of attention to detail. Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel is required. Experience with YARDI commercial real estate management systems is a plus. 

     

    Dates Of Internship Program:  June 2019 to August 2019

    Summer Semester full- or part-time Internship (20-35 hours per week).  Flexible start and end dates; schedules open to discussion based on student and employer needs.
