    The Asset Building Program serves low-moderate income Boston residents with credit building, saving, and financial wellness opportunities.  The Asset Building Programs Intern will work directly with the Asset Building Coordinator in the planning, management, and implementation of the Coalition’s various asset building services. Other specific tasks shall include, but not necessarily be limited to:


    Asset Building Working Group (ABWG)

      • Assist with management of the working group that oversees Coalition asset building activity
      • Take and prepare minutes from ABWG meetings
      • Help to manage partner tasks and activities between meetings


    Data Entry and Evaluation

    • Assist with evaluation of the Financial Check-up programs
    • Enter and analyze data of the FCU packets
    • Collaborate with the Operations Manager, Development Coordinator, and Tax Data Intern in developing a comprehensive 2018-2019 data report/brochure.


    Additional Responsibilities

    • Assist in planning new proposals and procedures for 2019 tax season relating to the FCU
    • Perform other tasks as assigned


    Mission of Organization


    The mission of the Boston Tax Help Coalition is to broaden pathways from poverty to financial empowerment by maximizing the impact of the earned income and other tax credits through quality, free tax preparation, financial education and economic stability opportunities.


    Note: This is an unpaid Internship



    • Medium to high proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
    • Interest in social services and community development is a plus.
    • Ability to work independently, as well as, within a team.
    • Strong organizational skills
    • Experience with SPSS or equivalent statistical analysis software a plus, but not mandatory.


    DATES OF INTERNSHIP PROGRAM: September 2019 - December 2019

    Fall Semester full- or part-time Internship (24 -30 hours a week within a Monday through Friday, 9am-5pm schedule).  Flexible start and end dates; schedules open to discussion based on student and employer needs.
