    Title: Boston Builds Credit Intern

     

    Summary: Fall 2019 (paid)

    Boston Mayor Martin J. Walsh’s Office of Financial Empowerment (OFE) leads the City in creating asset building opportunities for low-to-moderate income individuals.   One of these projects is Boston Builds Credit, which has the goal of helping 25,000 Boston residents achieve a prime credit score by 2020.

     

    Mission of Organization

    The Office of Financial Empowerment’s mission is to link those seeking financial security and wealth generation with access to capital, financial education, and financial services.

     

    Project Description

    The Boston Builds Credit Intern will assist with credit report analysis for Boston residents who participated in the Financial Check-Up program and will facilitate updates to those participating in Boston Builds Credit, the first municipal credit building program.

     

    Specific Responsibilities:

    • Review data from credit reports in Excel;
    • Prepare client updates, contacting them as necessary;
    • Communicate with clients regarding credit building opportunities; and
    • Other related data entry tasks as needed.

     

    Qualifications:

    • Knowledge of Excel or willingness to learn;
    • Prior credit report experience is a plus, but not required;
    • Pleasant telephone manner; and
    • Current college student preferred

     

    Time Frame:

    • September-December 2019 (Fall Semester), 10 hours per week (flexible but must be between 9 am and 6 pm)
    • Starts immediately; $18/hour.
