Title: Bank On Boston Program Intern

Mission of Organization:
The Mission of Bank On Boston is to assist unbanked and underbanked residents of Boston to open and maintain zero-to-low cost checking and savings accounts, rather than utilizing high-cost alternative services and predatory practices including accessing providers such as check cashers, pawnshops, and/or payday lenders. Additionally, we work towards developing and providing safe, affordable, and accessible credit building products for our customers.
Internship Description
The Bank On Boston Program Intern will assist with research and use data analysis regarding low to moderate-income customers' history with community-based organizations and/or direct service providers to improve service relationships with customers, specifically focusing on customer retention and ultimately their financial and/or asset growth.
Roles and responsibilities include:
Networking:
- Attend meetings with the Bank On Boston Fellow
- Participate in the exchange of information and/or services among individuals, groups, or institutions; specifically, the cultivation of productive relationships
Research & Writing:
- Assist with drafting, editing, or reviewing presentations, narratives, letters of interest, acknowledgments, and reports
- Assist with creating and improving communications, presentations, and resources such as the webpage, brochures, or additional materials, as needed
- Prepare reports and communications regarding activities, metrics, and project outcomes Administrative:
- Assist with promotional events as needed
- Assist with other development tasks as needed
Key Qualifications:
- Good listener and actively shows an interest in someone else's opinions or thoughts ● Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a positive, enthusiastic attitude ● Strong organization skills, with the ability to prioritize and work under strict deadlines ● Ability to take initiative and work independently as well as within a team environment ● Medium to high proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Word and Excel ● Knowledge of the underlying issues impacting immigrant and low-income communities Time Commitment:
- 8-15 hours a week from January - April/May 2021, flexible.
A writing and/or presentation sample is requested, but not required
